If you’re a psychic, tarot/oracle reader and/or a magickal practitioner, you may know the significance of raising your vibration for psychic and spiritual work.
Spirit and spirit energy functions on a higher vibration than we do here on the physical plane.
The physical plane is what I describe as slower and denser than spirit’s vibrational energy.
It takes much longer for anything to manifest here in the physical plane, which is why patience is such a virtue.
I like to think that impatient people such as myself have the memory of how quickly everything manifests in Spirit that we get frustrated about how slow it is here on Earth!
To communicate with spirit, those who have crossed over, spirit guides and the higher self, we have to raise our vibration to reach up to spirit.
When it comes to communicating with spirits (those who have crossed over), they have to lower their vibration while we have to raise our vibration resulting in meeting somewhere in the middle.
This is why it’s called mediumship as the vibration level is kind of at a medium (not too high, not too low) level.
These four ways to raise your vibration can be used for mediumship, but for the purpose of this post, it can be used before any psychic reading, tarot or oracle reading or when preparing for a magickal working such as a ritual or spell.
4 Ways to Raise Your Vibration for Psychic and Spiritual Work
1. Listen to Music
Before or during the reading or working, choose music to help you attune yourself and raise your vibration.
New age music works well especially if it doesn’t have lyrics which can be distracting. Instrumental music can also work, which for myself, house music works well too.
Make sure to listen to the songs first and your playlist to make sure you like and feel you can work with the songs chosen.
Having a distracting or annoying song come on during a reading or working when you’re right in the middle of it can make you immediately lose your focus.
Have a go-to playlist in your media player that you use often for readings or even meditation.
If you’re familiar with the music (or play it on repeat), it becomes like background sounds that won’t take up too much of your attention but can drown out any outside distractions or noises.
2. Use crystals
Certain crystals can help you raise your vibration and even help to maintain it.
Clear quartz is known as a master healer and crystal which can align and activate all the chakras. If you’re not sure which crystal to try, start with clear quartz. Can’t go wrong with clear quartz!
Selenite is another crystal that can align with the crown and higher chakras and is excellent for spiritual work. Working with Selenite and clear quartz can be a powerful combination.
Fluorite is also top on the list for enhancing vibration as it activates the third eye chakra and even the crown chakra.
Herkimer diamond can amplify any crystals that are used in combination with it as Herkimer diamond is also a high vibrational crystal.
These crystals can be used in meditation before a reading or magickal working or can be used during the reading or working.
You can hold them in your hand, wear jewellery made with the crystal(s) or place on your table or work area to infuse the energy of the crystals into the working area.
These are just a few crystals that can be used to help raise your vibration.

3. Lift Your Spirit
This is a technique that I’ve been doing for over 20 years that I learned on my own. A few years ago, I found that famous psychic medium James Van Praagh uses a similar technique as well.
To lift your spirit as I call it and raise your vibration, sit comfortably and relax.
Close your eyes and imagine pulling your energy from your arms, legs and torso in towards the centre of your body. For me, this is somewhere between the solar plexus chakra and the heart chakra.
After you feel this energy is too much at that point, begin to pull that energy upwards and imagine it raising out and above your shoulders and up through your head so that it rests above your shoulders and head.
Keep raising and pulling all your energy upwards so it’s as if you’re standing on your shoulders. Kind of like imagining that you’re “leaving your body.”
You just raised your energy!
After some practice you may begin to feel a shift and feel more attune to the vibrations and energies around you and become more sensitive to these energies.
When you are done, you can relax and release this energy or you can pull the energy back into you through your head and shoulders as if to lower it back into you and extend it back into your arms and legs. It would be kind of like going back into your body.
This technique can be done quickly and can take only a few seconds to do with practice.
4. Open the Chakras and Rise Up
This technique is similar to the previous one, but uses more mental visualization. This method may be easier for you if you’re a visual person and prefer to work with the chakras.
Begin with sitting comfortably, closing your eyes. Start with the root chakra, visualizing a bright, vibrant red colour.
You can make this as detailed as you want: spinning wheels, orbs, etc. For myself, I just visualize the colour red.
As you visualize this colour, imagine that it’s activating the chakra and opening it. After you feel that the chakra is activated, move the energy from the root chakra upwards to the sacral chakra.
Now visualize the sacral chakra as a brilliant orange colour. You can use the same method of visualizing the chakra as a wheel or whichever way you feel suits it.
Once you feel the sacral chakra is open and activated, move the energy from the sacral chakra upward to the solar plexus.
Repeat the same method as earlier with the root chakra and sacral chakra, but this time the solar plexus chakra is a vibrant, bright yellow colour.
Visualize the yellow colour to activate the solar plexus chakra. After you feel the chakra is open and activated, move the energy from the chakra up towards the heart chakra.
Activate the heart chakra by visualizing a bright, vibrant green (or pink) colour. Once you feel this chakra is open and activated, move the energy from the heart chakra to the throat chakra.
The throat chakra is a bright blue colour, which you can visualize this colour in any way that you associate the chakra. After the throat chakra is activated, move this energy to the third eye (brow) chakra.
To activate the third eye chakra, visualize a deep, brilliant indigo colour. You may even feel pressure in your third eye as it’s being activated.
Move this energy up further to the crown chakra where you may feel pressure or tingling at the top of your head as the energy moves there.
Visualize the crown chakra as a bright violet or ultra-violet colour and as you do so visualize it opening and as you do so the energy funnels out and upward to create a cone of energy.
You can try another visualization as imagining the energy extends outward like antennae reaching to connect to the spirit world like telephone or internet cables to “plug in”.
You’ve now raised your energy from your root chakra to your crown chakra and to Spirit.
This method can be done in a simpler method after some practice by simply saying the names of the chakras in order and visualizing the colour. It can be similar to a counting the chakras and as you count them up to the crown chakra, your energy rises as well.
To bring your energy down again and close the chakras, you can pull your energy downward back into you, visualize each chakra as closing such as visualizing each colour as slowing dimming and turning off.
These four ways to raise your vibration for psychic and spiritual work can be done in combination or separately. Using music and crystals in combination with the raising your spirit technique and the chakra technique be helpful.
Experiment to use one or more of these techniques to see what works for you.
Raising your vibration for psychic and spiritual work can have a remarkable affect on the outcome of your work.
As with any spiritual or psychic work, it’s important to use grounding techniques after doing such work.
Sometimes it isn’t necessary, but it’s a good habit to get into since over time while doing spiritual or psychic work without grounding and releasing the build of up psychic energy left over from workings can weigh you down.

Until next time!
