We greatly appreciate that we were able to share the life of Rocky and Rosie, and that we have Cash to continue this journey.

As Rocky and Rosie have crossed the Rainbow Bridge in 2026, Cash has to step up his role as the remaining Tarot Pug. 🌈🐾

Cash is still very hyperactive and demands a lot of attention.

Rocky and Rosie were more laid-back and over the years, they absorbed a lot about tarot, divination, astrology and spirituality.

Even though Cash has been with us since October 2023, he hasn’t been much interested in taking on the role.

Now, Cash has inherited the duties and “legacy” of Rocky and Rosie.

Every dog and every pug is different.  It’s an adjustment to adapt to Cash’s personality and his needs to keep him happy, healthy, and entertained.

Trust me when I say this:

Cash won’t do anything that he doesn’t want to do.

He’s not eager to please anyone. If there’s things to do with the business (e.g. photos, videos, etc.), it’s on his terms and conditions. Even with treats and food, if he’s had enough or doesn’t want to do something, that’s a wrap for the day. 😅

As an Aries pug, Cash is very determined and headstrong. It’s Cash’s world and I’m just living in it! ♈️🐾

For this post, Cash and I thought we’d share some “alternative” or “non-traditional” meanings for some tarot cards.

We’ll start with one card in this post and in future posts, we’ll share more cards and meanings.

Some of these meanings are from other tarot sources that I’ve read over the years, and some meanings are from my own interpretations that I’ve used in tarot readings.

Although Cash has been with us since 2023, he hasn’t really sat with me and absorbed the meanings of the cards.

Cash is usually wanting to play and be entertained, not really resting next to me because he has severe FOMO (fear of missing out) and perhaps ADHDID (attention hyperactive disorder in dogs.) 😅

As the only pug in the Tarot Pugs Abode now, Cash will definitely prompt us to be more active and adventurous.

Rocky and Rosie were very much “homebodies” – they were more happy to be at home than going anywhere. Anytime we went somewhere with them, Rocky and Rosie were more ecstatic to be home again.

Rocky and Rosie were by my side over the years as I studied tarot, reading lots of books and articles, practicing tarot late at night in the beginning of creating Tarot Pugs.

They were always sitting with the cards and absorbing everything while they slept or were awake next to me.

Now that it’s just Cash, he’s getting the one-on-one teachings and attention, not just to be a Tarot Pug to continue the legacy, but to be the pug he’s meant to be – true to his own nature and personality – and teach me how to be more active again.

Let’s begin with a tarot card that we have some “alternative” or “non-traditional” meanings.

“Modern Alternative” Tarot Meanings:

7 of Cups

To begin with this card, we’ll look at the traditional upright and reversed meanings according to Rider Waite Smith Tarot (RWS) and Thoth Tarot.

Traditional RWS / Thoth Upright Meanings:

• Confusion
• Unrealistic desires
• Wishful thinking
• Immature whims
• Daydreaming
• Silly imagination
• Deb*uchery (al*oh*lism, d**g ab*se, prom*sc*ity)
• Illusory success
• Temptation (e.g. seven d*adly sins)
• Get rich quick schemes

Traditional RWS / Thoth Reversed Meanings:

• Clarity
• Back to the drawing board
• Losing touch of reality
• Resisting or struggling to resist temptation
• Virtues contrary to the seven d*adly sins: Abstinence against gluttony, chastity against l*st, humility against pride, kindness against envy, patience against anger, liberalism against covetousness, diligence against sloth
• Making realistic plans

Now let’s have a look at an alternative or non-traditional meaning which also is modern.

A modern or alternative take on the 7 of Cups may suggest the following:

A common theme of the 7 of Cups suggests things that aren’t “real” / tangible, aren’t sustainable or long lasting, e.g. something that’s elusive or “built on a house of cards.”

• Fantasy, Sci-fi, or Fiction – movies, books, TV or streaming shows or series, animation or anime, conventions, cosplay, LARP (Live Action Role Play), or Renaissance fairs

• Playing “make believe”; games like “the floor is lava” or having a play/pretend “tea party” or playing with dolls, toys, or stuffed animals; playtime that uses the imagination

• Video games or video game consoles (Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo); or RPGs (role playing games – e.g. Dungeons and Dragons)

• MLMs (Multi-Level Marketing) companies

• Ponzi schemes

• AI generated videos, content, and pictures – either created with the intention to expand the imagination for visual effects or may fool people into believing the video, content story or pictures are real

• False or misleading advertisements or products sold online or in person – these advertisements may lead to “knock off” (copyright infringed) or “unofficial” merchandise or products, sellers that claim to be local sellers but do “drop shipping” from Amazon or aren’t actually local, Etsy sellers that claim to make handmade products but sell mass produced products

• Poor quality or fake jewellery or merchandise, e.g. the product looked good in person or online, but after wearing or using the item, it falls apart, tarnishes, or turns out to be “fake” – may also indicate “costume jewellery” such as made in the 1960s and 1970s which were designed and crafted to look expensive but we’re fake

• B*0ts / Agents (AI) – comments, emails, messages, customer services representatives that aren’t real people; this could also fall under the 7 of Swords, if the interaction is meant to deceive or scam, but in some instances wherein a customer service AI representative is designed to be helpful, it may be preferred to chat with a real human to get assistance

• The “Cloud” – data storage in a “cloud”; any data storage that’s virtual (i.e., not on a hard disk)

• The “Fine Print” – this may indicate the fine print in agreements and contracts; a lot of companies have ironclad agreements and contracts that are long, lengthy and full of legalese jargon with the intention that no one will read what they’re signing. The 7 of Cups may suggest reading the fine print – if reversed, it could suggest something in the fine print may be problematic or need to be carefully understood or reviewed.
