It’s with deep sadness that we announce that Rocky, our senior Tarot Pug, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the family, his littermate-sister Rosie, and Cash, the “Rookie” Tarot Pug, on February 9, 2026.
Rocky was 13 years old. He was diagnosed with myelopathy in early 2025, although he showed early signs in late 2024 which were mistaken for arthritis.
We cared for Rocky as he lost his ability to walk and stand in 2025.
In August 2025, we got a stroller for Rocky which he loved going out and about the neighbourhood to our local park.

In late 2025, he received a wheelchair with help from High Roller’s Club, a charitable organization that provides wheelchairs to dogs.
We are eternally grateful for HRC and their assistance. If you or someone that you know is in need of assistance to get a wheelchair for a dog, please reach out to High Roller’s Club on Instagram or their website.
The wheelchair gave Rocky some freedom and mobility in late 2025, but then winter arrived and Rocky’s condition began to deteriorate more.

The complications from myelopathy began to take its toll on Rocky.
Dogs with myelopathy generally live 12 to 18 months after initial onset or diagnosis. We were able to maximize the time with Rocky.
We celebrated New Year 2025, all of 2025, and New Year 2026 with Rocky while he had myelopathy.
We had hoped that he would be able to make it until spring 2026 with us so we could be outside with the stroller and wheelchair, but it wasn’t possible.
It’s an adjustment to have the Tarot Pugs “pack” without Rocky.
It was a dream come true to be a Grumble.
The Tarot Pugs Grumble.
Becoming a Grumble wasn’t intentionally planned.
Cash, the youngest of the three pugs, happened to come live with us by chance when a coworker needed to re-home their pug in 2023.
We agreed immediately because we knew this pug needed a home.
At the time having experience with pugs for the past 15 years, we felt we could give Cash a good home.
Rocky & Rosie didn’t bond with Cash, but they accepted him – or at the least “tolerated” him – as Cash was (and still is) very vocal, hyper and active compared to Rocky and Rosie’s slowed down, calm, senior lifestyle.

Rosie seems to accept that Rocky is no longer with us. It seems she has moments when she misses him.
However, Rosie began to distance herself from Rocky in the weeks leading up to his passing.
The two of them were always licking each other’s faces after breakfast and dinner, but in the weeks before Rocky’s passing, Rosie would avoid Rocky and move away from him.
Rosie may have known his time was near before we did. She has always been more independent. Rosie was always OK if Rocky wasn’t at home (e.g. going for a walk or the vet), but Rocky couldn’t be at home without Rosie, otherwise he would have separation anxiety from her.
Rocky’s passing was peaceful. He looked beautiful as always.

Tarot Pugs began with Rocky and Rosie in 2014-2015.
We adopted Rocky and Rosie at age 2 years old in 2014 after our first pug, Tomo, passed away suddenly from pancreatitis in 2014.
In late 2014, we started getting back into divination and tarot after a very long hiatus.
We’re starting to get back to a routine and learning to live life without Rocky.
Rosie will be 14 years old in March 2026 and Cash will be 4 years old in April 2026. We’re giving them much love and attention.
Most of our work lately is on our Patreon where we post Monthly Tarotscopes, Monthly Dark Moon Tarotscopes, Baba Yaga Tarot Messages, Spiritual Tarot Messages and bonus tarot and divination messages as our schedule permits.
If you’d like to stay up to date with our tarot and divination messages, we offer free and paid memberships on Patreon.
We’re also on Instagram and Facebook where we post somewhat regularly as we’re able to do so.

For everyone who has ever requested a tarot or divination reading from us, Rocky was always in the room sleeping near me, offering beautiful pug-energy to assist in every reading.
Rocky was more “behind the scenes” and didn’t particularly have interest in being in front of a camera to pose for photos. But he loved the treats.
Most of his photos are “candid” and “in the moment” – he was always just living in the moment (like all dogs.)
While Rosie enjoys posing for treats and Cash likes “biting” tarot cards to select them, Rocky was the quiet, sturdy “rock” that kept us all grounded.
Thank you to everyone who has followed us on this journey with Rocky by our side.
It has been an honour and privilege to share Rocky’s life with you.

Such a beautiful Puppy. I will pray to Oshun but also to St. Guinefort on his behalf to help you with his transition.
