Intuition, emotions and feelings are often beyond words. When we try to verbally explain or express what we feel or interpret, we can often lose the meaning of the deepness or profound. Sometimes other languages are better at expressing these sorts of things better than English can. Words can carry so much meaning that is often lost in translation. ~•~ When working spells and rituals, language is one of the most important components of it. Decades ago, Catholic masses were only done in Latin and in some places are still done so today. My mum remembered going to mass in the 1960s as a child in Ontario, Canada where the mass was only performed in Latin (though my mum didn't understand much of it.) However, the feeling of a ceremony performed in a language different than spoken in every day life (where you live/work) can evoke a transformative experience. ~•~ Growing up, I would attend Easter at the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Montreal, Quebec, Canada in which the mass was in only Ukrainian. At my young age, I didn't really understand much of it, but the hymns and singing of the mass was an experience within itself. ~•~ This is why I've done spells and rituals in my secondary languages of Icelandic and Ukrainian as these shift the mindset away from my common thinking and language of English. Focusing on the sound and pronunciation create focus and intent. ~•~ Learning languages or another language can be fundamental to enhancing personal experience in ritual, spell work and ceremony. At the very least, translating a spell into another language accurately can be a transformational experience when performed. However, if working with a language that you're not fluent in, be sure to research each word to understand the full meaning and context first. Taking lessons in person or online can help with understanding how to read, write and speak the language efficiently. ~•~ Card image from The Moonchild Tarot by Danielle Noel. Everyone has a spiritual team: spirits, ancestors, spirit guides, deities. Everyone has their own inclination and connection with some of these more easily than connecting with other members of their own spirit team. ~•~ One of the easiest ways to form a constant connection with anyone on your spirit team is to have everyday conversations with them and not just when you need something or advice. A genuine relationship has to be formed with your spirits, ancestors, deities and/or spirit guides in order to fully benefit from what they have to offer. ~•~ Don't be afraid to just shoot the sh** with your spirits, ancestors, spirit guides or deities: ramble, vent or just them them your random thoughts of the day. However, be sure to leave some moments to pause and get feedback from them that can help you process what you're feeling or going through. When you can, give offerings to say thank you. ~•~ Here's a simple three card tarot / oracle spread to get quick communication, guidance or advice: 1) Message from your spirits 2) Message from your ancestors 3) Message from your spirit guides ~•~ To find out how to work with spirits in witchcraft (and what they may be) check out the link in bio. If you want to know more about spirit guides, get the mini e-book about spirit guides through the link in bio. ~•~ Gruß vom Krampus! Today is also Krampusnacht. "Patience is bitter, but the fruit is sweet." - Aristotle. In astrology, the 7 of Pentacles (Rings) is Saturn in Taurus. Saturn is all about discipline, work and hardships that build character and reward. Taurus is the fixed Earth sign, steadfast and enduring. ~•~ This is the last month of 2019 - the last month of the 2010s, this decade - think how far you've come. Many of us may not be exactly where we want to be or be where we think we ought to be by now, but it's a work in progress. The seeds you planted years ago are slowly sprouting and it may take years to finally reap them. Keep going. Keep watering your growth and work to let it thrive. Working on goals is like gardening. You can't water some things or garden every day. Sometimes you have to sit back and wait for the flower or plant to mature before you can prune or trim. ~•~ Take breaks as needed. No one can work 24/7 365/year. Plan for the future, do some work, then take a pause and see it slowly take shape. Sometimes plants and flowers will die whether due to circumstances or just a natural ending. Goals can end like that too sometimes. But just like gardening, a dedicated gardener won't give up just because a plant failed to thrive one year. They'll learn and adapt, trying again when the time and season is right. Working on our goals can be similar. ~•~ Patience is needed above all else. Slow and steady growth yields higher returns than sudden and erratic growth that's short lived. ~•~ Card image from The Marigold Tarot by Amrit Brar. Tarot Pug: Rosie.
The Hierophant is one of those cards in tarot (along the same as the Devil) that our background and history with organized religion can have an impact on how we interpret and connect with this particular energy and idea of this card. ~•~ For some of us, we may have a strong connection or aversion to the mainstream organized religion that is often depicted when we see or think of the Hierophant and this is often depending on where you grew up and which doctrine you were raised in. For those in North America raised with Western Christianity, this will differ somewhat to those who were raised with Eastern Orthodoxy. ~•~ The Hierophant is all about tradition, sanctimony, what is considered "orthodox" and "righteous", tradition handed down and can also represent marriage in a formal sense such as the ceremony, ritual and legal binding of union. In modern times, we have to put a modern approach and "spin" on The Hierophant and not get stuck or fear the old, "stuffy" closed minded approach that some may feel The Hierophant represents. The Hierophant is a card that we can give a nod to the past, recognize it for what it was and then look to the future to see how we can mold and adapt to modern ideology and thinking. ~•~ In Slavic countries, this is seen as "dual faith" or двоеверие - for those who aren't devout Orthodox or Christian, some will blend and mix the Orthodox faith with old pagan customs. A lot of Slavic Slavic Orthodox customs and traditions are based heavily on Slavic paganism, but the meanings have been changed to represent the Holy Trinity, God or Jesus. Orthodoxy was brought to the Kyievan Rus Empire in the 9th century by Greek mercenaries, but they weren't ever able to stamp out the old customs and traditions which in recent times is seeing a revival. The Orthodox Church still uses the Julian calendar which is why Easter, Christmas and New Year's are 2 weeks after these holidays are celebrated on the Gregorian calendar (which most of the world uses.) ~•~ Continued in Comments👇🐾
