Last night, my husband and I were watching a movie on TV at around midnight early Sunday morning. At around 12:30 am, I could hearing loud meowing coming from somewhere. I paused the TV and checked on our cat in the other room, and she was sleeping. So, I went back and restarted the movie, but then heard the meowing again. I paused it again and listened. My husband determined it was coming from outside and looked out our living room window, then opened the window. There was a medium sized black cat outside our window. It meowed and meowed loudly, then came over to us by the window, stood up on its back legs to come face to face with us, and continued to meow.
My husband went to get some cat food for it, came back and went outside in our backyard and tried to call the kitty to come over. It stayed close to me by the window clawing at the window screen trying to come inside, so he climbed up on the fence, and placed a bowl of kibble for the kitty. My husband came back inside and we stood by the window watching the black cat eat the cat food. I told the cat I was closing the window, said bye-bye and then closed it, and went to watch the movie again.
The it started meowing again – loudly. I went to peek outside the living room window, then it jumped onto our fence and looked back at me. So, I went to the kitchen window that looks onto the backyard to get a better look at the cat. It saw me then jumped down into our backyard. I went to tell my husband that the cat was in the backyard and then went back to the kitchen window. I couldn’t see him at first until suddenly I saw two big yellow eyes staring back at me and a cat mouth opening with a loud meow! It gave me such a startle. It sat there by the window looking in at me, meowing.
I went back into the living room and we could hear it meowing again. My husband looked outside, and the cat was sitting by our patio door, meowing. There was no way we would be able to let the cat in with two pugs and a cat of our own, especially since this black cat had front claws.
My husband and I went to our spare bedroom for a few minutes to check something on the computer, then came back about three minutes later and we couldn’t hear the meowing anymore. We checked through the windows and couldn’t see it anymore. It was almost 1 am and there was no sign of the black cat.
I tried to look up online what the meaning of a black cat coming to your home could mean, and I found a few that says it could be good luck and prosperity. Prior to the cat’s arrival, my husband and I were talking about our business plans and opportunities for the future. We talked a bit about my tarot readings and my husband’s recent promotion at work. The movie we had previously watched that evening on TV was Ghost with Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze. Throughout the day in our home, I had felt breezes of air next to me when there were no windows open and made the connection of the thought “April” to the birth month of my grandmother and grandfather (my dad’s parents). In fact, I had first seen Ghost when it came out on VHS with my dad, mum and my dad’s parents.
Before falling asleep, I knew we had “visitors” in the bedroom – which don’t so much bother me, but feel uncomfortable, because I’m trying to sleep and it feels imposed upon. I mean come on, I’m trying to sleep! That’s when I say, that I’d like to be alone to sleep and it’s feeling uncomfortable, but finish with a positive thought of light and peace. Most of the time, the “visitors” stay in the living room, which is where we spend about 90% of our time. However, this morning I was in the kitchen and my husband was in the bathroom that is separated from the kitchen by a hallway and a closed door. I walked by the bathroom and I heard my husband ask me if I called his name. I told him I was in the kitchen and just came back into the hallway. He said while being in the bathroom he heard someone whisper his name in his left ear – which made it uncomfortable because I mean come on, in the bathroom! Privacy please! I told him while I stood on the other side of the door, to just politely say to whoever that it’s not a good time and he wants privacy. Some spirits don’t have boundaries and we need to politely set them.
It’s been quite an active weekend. I’m hoping there won’t be too much activity tonight, considering it’s a new work week and there’s lots to do on this physical world!
Enjoy your Sunday everyone!
